International Student Checklist

For the international admissions requirements and forms to download, you can visit http://international.waketech.edu. Before you submit your application to the International Student Office at Wake Technical Community College, be sure that the following items are completed and attached to this application.

$40 non-refundable application fee - Please refer to http://international.waketech.edu for the methods to submit the application fee to the International Student Office.

Passport photo page with the expiration date/Immigration documents – Please provide a copy of your passport to ensure your name (your dependents’ names -if applicable) is listed correctly on the I-20. If you do not have a passport, please submit a copy of your birth certificate with a certified translation. Change of status students (additional required documents): Please provide a copy of your entry visa, entry stamp in your passport, and all current status documentation. Transfer students (additional required documents): Please provide a copy of your previous I-20s, I-94, and F-1 entry stamp in your passport, F-1 visa, I-797 F-1 Approval Notice (if applicable), and Employment Authorization Card (if applicable).

Financial documents including an Affidavit of Support Form and a letter from your sponsor’s bank giving specific current account balance information or a letter from your bank. The bank letter must be in English or accompanied by a certified translation.

Completion of secondary education (equivalent to high school education in the U.S.) or a degree received - Provide complete official academic records from secondary and post-secondary schools with certified translations. The academic records should include your transcripts with courses taken, grades received, grading scales, and completion certificates for secondary education, examination results from the Examination Council, and/or degrees awarded.

International (F-1) Student Medical Form signed by a practicing physician is required. A TB test is required within the last 12 months. If the TB test is positive, the chest x-ray result within the last 12 months is required. (Please note: The TB test and chest x-ray results must include a date.)

Please allow up to two weeks for your application to be reviewed. You will receive an email notification on how to check the status of your application. After this time has passed, you may check the status of your application by emailing pmsolomon@waketech.edu if you have not received the email notification. If you have been convicted of a crime other than a minor traffic violation, those convictions will not prohibit your admission to the College. However, convictions for certain crimes may disqualify you from participation in clinical or co-op experiences in the health, law enforcement, and early childhood type programs.
